OEE
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is one measure of the performance of a Machine a Line or a Plant. OEE is defined as: Availability * Performance * Quality.
| Availability | = Scheduled Hours / Total Hours |
| Performance | = (Parts produced / Time Unit) / Maximum Rated Speed |
| Quality | = Sellable Parts / Total Parts made |
World class Measures of OEE are considered to be:
- Availability > 90%
- Performance Rate > 95%
- Quality Rate > 99%
Leading to a World-Class OEE > 85%.
Studies have shown that most production facilities are running at an OEE of < 60%
APC's Production Analysis (PA) and Downtime Monitoring software will help to pinpoint areas which can be improved to raise your current OEE to the World Class measure and beyond. Six areas of loss have been identified as the major cause of Lost Time. They are:
- Equipment Failure
- Setup and Adjustments
- Idling and Minor stoppages
- Slow running
- Scrap and Rework
- Startup Losses
All of these areas are easily and accurately identified with APC's cost effective software and communication tools.
